KATHY DANA, INC. RETAINED TO DEVELOP BRANDING GUIDELINES FOR STANFORD BLOOD CENTER

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Kathy Dana, Inc. was recently retained by Stanford Blood Center of Palo Alto to develop the center’s branding guidelines. The project is designed to enable staff members company-wide to elevate awareness of the center throughout the Bay Area.

Stanford Blood Center, a part of Stanford University, is dedicated to providing blood to patients in need and advancing the science of transfusion medicine. The center serves a number of San Francisco Bay Area hospitals.

“Contributing our highly-specialized brand-building capabilities to Stanford Blood Center is a privilege knowing their work saves lives today and in the future,” said Kathy Dana, president of Kathy Dana Inc. Stanford Blood Center is the fourth blood center to take advantage of the firm’s focus on communications that build strong brand positions. Kathy Dana Inc. guided the former SMF Blood Center now BloodSource, headquartered in Sacramento, in its re-positioning, name change and long-term brand development. Dana has also provided branding expertise to Central California Blood Center, Blood Bank of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, now LifeStream.

“I’m quite certain our success — locally, nationally and internationally — is due in part to Kathy’s leadership through our name change and branding efforts,” said BloodSource CEO Mike Fuller.

Stanford Blood Center is part of the department of pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. It was founded in 1978 to meet the increasingly large and complex transfusion needs of Stanford Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The Blood Center is a leader in transfusion medicine, particularly in areas of blood safety and compatibility testing.

Kathy Dana, Inc. provides marketing communications to healthcare, not-for-profit, consumer and business-to-business clients.
